Fiesta Bowl Information

The Fiesta Bowl, now sponsored by Tostitos tortilla chips (a Frito-Lay product), is a United States college football game played annually since 1971 in Tempe, Arizona, hosted by Arizona State University.

In 2000 the Fiesta Bowl became part of the Bowl Championship Series, and every four years (most recently in 2003) is the designee for the national championship game. In January 2007, the next time the Fiesta Bowl will host the BCS title game, the game will be played at Cardinals Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Fiesta Bowl Logo

When the clock hits 0:00 on January 2, 2006, it will mark the 35th and final Fiesta Bowl game to be played at Sun Devil Stadium, leaving breathless plays, historic games, Heisman Trophy winners and legendary coaches, among the countless memories.

In a short period of time, the Fiesta Bowl reached unparalleled success by hosting five national championships and garnering some of the highest television ratings among post season play.

But you don’t have to be just a college football fan to enjoy the Fiesta Bowl.

Due to the foresight and leadership of the founding members of the Fiesta Bowl, along with thousands of dedicated volunteers, the Fiesta Bowl has taken on a life of its own encompassing one of the most comprehensive festivals in the nation.

Each year, the Fiesta Bowl hosts more than 50 events gathering approximately one-million spectators and participants.

The State of Arizona annually hosts visitors from across the nation in a wide variety of ways. Whether it be golf, community events, parades, national band championships, educational programs, formal galas or football games, families and friends have the opportunity to celebrate college football and all it entails.

Not only has the Fiesta Bowl changed the way college football fans celebrate their team’s accomplishments, it has become a way of life for thousands of Arizonans.
